Abide Retreat

The vision of the ETL Abide Retreat is to create a space where first responders, military service members, and veterans can lay down their guard and have rest from the battle. Weary warriors can come from across the country, with the intent of withdrawing into the wilderness, to meet with and be restored by their Heavenly Father.

Over the course of the weekend, our goal is to guide warriors into an understanding of what a mutual “abiding” relationship looks like with Jesus. We seek to discard a life of “checking in with Jesus” before and during our shift and pursue a life where we are in a fixed state of love and community with our Heavenly Father. We seek to emphasize that this relationship is mutual. We don’t just seek to abide with Him, He also abides with us. A life lived in this manor is a life that is truly changed.

Let us be your armor bearers for a weekend. You will come and find rest in your Father and leave equipped to take on the call God has placed on your life.

On Friday afternoon we will check in, get settled, and kick off the weekend with dinner. This will be followed by a group Bible study next to the camp fire, under the mountain stars. We will focus on setting the agenda for the weekend and discuss what scripture says about abiding in Christ.

Take Saturday morning to find silence and spend time with Jesus. Grab breakfast and a cup of coffee and sit by the pond. Hike up Buffalo Mountain.  Find somewhere comfortable and silent within the 100 acre retreat for some personal devotion time.

After our personal devotions, we will break up for our Saturday activity. The goal for the Saturday activity is for guests to find time to worship, while being active and enjoying God's creation. Once you register, we will work with you to facilitate one of several activities that scenic, Eastern Tennessee boasts. These options include: mountain biking, fishing, golfing, kayaking, swimming, frisbee golf, and hiking.

Saturday evening will include dinner, followed by a group worship night.

Sunday morning we will grab breakfast as a group and hike to the stunning Buffalo Mountain overlook area. We will spend some time on top of the mountain encouraging and praying for one another before we depart.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to email Josh Cook at Josh@EntertheLion.co. Because it's a small group we will be as flexible as possible to make sure that you have an impactful weekend that you will remember for years to come.
